What is Extended Reality? Extended reality (XR) is an umbrella term that encompasses all real and virtual environments which include VR, AR and MR. Virtual Reality(VR) envelopes the user in a computer generated digital environment by the use of a VR headset. Augmented Reality(AR) uses a headset to layer visual data or objects in relation to the surrounding environment. Mixed Reality(MR) also combines visual data or objects with the environment but adds a layer of interactivity between virtual and real world objects.
