In addition to 3D printers, woodworking tools, and soldering tools, the Innovation Lab includes some other machines that allow you to bring an idea to fruition.
Adobe Creative Cloud
The three iMac computers located in the VR Room inside the lab are equipped with the full suite of Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, Premiere Pro, Acrobat, and more. Simply create a free Adobe account to be able to log in and use this software on the iMac computers.
Brother SE1900 Sewing and Embroidery Machines
Use our two digital sewing machines to make a wide range of items, from clothing all the way to quilts. Because our machine is digitized, you can plug in a USB drive, transfer a pattern which you might have downloaded or made yourself, and let the machine do the work for you! The Hatch Embroidery Software on the nearby Lab PC can be used to create original designs.
Some fabric samples and a variety of thread colors are provided, but any specific fabric desired should be purchased by the user.
Cricut Cutter – Maker
Cut, write, and score on over 60 materials with absolute precision while using a variety in pen styles and colors. Using the Cricut Design Space software you can create cards, seasonal and home décor, gifts and more with just a click. The Cricut Maker also has a rotary blade for cutting fabric and can handle designs up to 12″x24″.
Some material samples are provided, but any specific color or material desired should be purchased by the user.

Arduino Kits
These kits can be used to build a wide range of computer controlled devices, such as robots, thermostats, and motion detectors. Use the various components inside the kit to assemble your microcontroller board, and then tell it what to do using the C programming language.
Raspberry Pi Computer
These tiny computers are more powerful than the Arduinos, and can be used in situations where a little more computational oomph is called for. They run a fully-fledged operating system and can connect to peripherals via USB and HDMI.
SparkFun Inventor’s Kit
This kit contains a lot of the physical components you might need while tinkering with a small mechanical or electrical project, from wires and clamps to lights and resistors. The kit contains ideas for projects as well, including an autonomous robot!
Zumo Robot
This tiny robot, controlled by Arduino, can speed around and push other bots in the Mini Sumo robot combat event category. A good hands-on application for Arduino micro controllers!
